Stupid ordering

So it looks like if I add more than one tune a day, I can't count on the order they'll be displayed (see the Jacuzzi Boys orgy from late October 2008). Every time I edit something, they get reordered. I guess you get what you pay for.

VBR

Apparently, this thing I'm using to generate the feed freaks out on variable bit rates.  No big deal, just ignore the bit rate when it looks like some whacked out number.

Hot Handed God of Cops - Rock the Casbah

  • Hot Handed God of Cops - Rock the Casbah
  • Several years ago, I was subscribed to a mailing list that was an off-shoot from Negativland's website (it was called 'Snuggles', a nod to the infamous 'U2' record).  One day, it was brought to our attention that both the Webster and Encarta online dictionaries now had sound samples of the words, and someone figured out how to get to the raw samples themselves.  Within a few hours, we had a full fledged project put together.  The idea was to get crappy midi versions of popular songs, and use the dictionary samples to create the lyrics.  Thus, Dictionaraoke was born.  My personal contributions, under the moniker 'Hot Handed God of Cops', were 'Blitzkrieg Bop', and 'Rock the Casbah'.  I did Beck's 'Loser' too, but when they decided to cap the number of songs at 100, I didn't want to take up three spots.  Don't know if I still have that one.  So if you're interested in listening to a bunch of geeks play with bad midi files and vocal samples, check out http://www.dictionaraoke.org/.  It's still up and running.  My personal favorites were Stark Effect's take on 'Green Eggs and Ham', and m-slick da ninja's version of 'My Heart Will Go On'.
