Stupid ordering
So it looks like if I add more than one tune a day, I can't count on the order they'll be displayed (see the Jacuzzi Boys orgy from late October 2008). Every time I edit something, they get reordered. I guess you get what you pay for.
VBR
Apparently, this thing I'm using to generate the feed freaks out on variable bit rates. No big deal, just ignore the bit rate when it looks like some whacked out number.
... a place for some things ...
A (mostly) random collection of music that is relevant to me in some way. Maybe you'll like it, maybe not...

Television Personalities - I Know Where Syd Barrett Lives
- I've never been a Pink Floyd fan. I have an ex brother-in-law who was. His name was Mark. His family owned a chain of these weirdly medieval-styled hamburger restaurants called 'The Ground Pati' where your drinks were served in pewter mugs. I hated that, but they did have good burgers. I was the only person in our family that didn't seem to hate him. This was largely due to the fact that he'd married my oldest sister, who's bordering on bat-shit crazy, so everyone assumed this dude had to be pretty fucked up. When I was in my early teens and really getting hungry for music outside the mainstream, he and I would talk about what we were listening to. The first time I heard Syd Barrett's name was from him going on about the history of Pink Floyd, telling me that Syd had gone crazy from taking too many psychedelics, and was now in an institution running around its green fields chasing butterflies. I got hip to Television Personalities a couple of years ago from a 'best albums of the 80s' list. Even if this song wasn't about Syd Barrett, the sounds would have still reminded me of that story.
